Tour de Kale ride began in 2000 as a fund-raiser for Kale Watkins, a cyclist who was paralyzed in a skiing accident. It drew an amazing response right from the get-go and continues to be a superbly organized and executed event. Very scenic, awesome support, good lunch. All Riders Welcome.

I don't know how I ended up looking at your pictures when I was searching craigs list but I did. Your site and your beautiful tribute to your husband and father and paw-paw brought joy to me today when my daddy is on my mind and I was missing him. His name was Bobby Combs (ACE) AND HE WAS ROBBED AT HIS PAWN SHOP 8-11-2003 AND SHOT AND PASSED 3 MONTHS LATER. IN A MOMENT LIFE AS I KNEW CHANGED AND IT WOULD NEVER BE THE SAME. HE WAS BORN JAN 21, 1947 AND HE ENJOYED LIFE JUST LIKE MR WATKINS SEEMED TO IN ALL THE PICTURES AND HE WAS LOVED BY MY MOTHER AND ME AND MY BROTHER AND HIS GRANDDAUGHTERS. MY OLDEST TURNED 21 1-13-2008 AND THEY ALL MISS HIM DEARLY AND I REALLY MISS MY DADDY AS I KNOW YOU ARE MISSING YOUR LOVED ONE. GOD ALWAYS GIVES US WHAT WE NEED JUST WHEN WE NEED IT. I COULDN'T QUITE PICTURE MY DADDY'S FACE TO DAY OR HEAR HIS VOICE AS I REMEMBERED UNTIL I SAW YOUR PICTURES AND THE SMILE MR WATKINS ALWAYS HAD ON HIS FACE AND SAW HOW MUCHED HE LOVED HIS FAMILY AND LIFE. AND I ONCE AGAIN COULD SEE MY DADDY SMILE AND LAUGH AND I COULD PICTURE HIM WALKING ME DOWN THE ISLE JUST LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY NOT 22 YEARS AGO. I conciderd Ervin a true friend,had many a great conversations with him.When my clutch went out on my tractor I had just lost my house in a fire a couple days before,Ervin came by and picked up my tractor and fixed it and when I asked him how much I owed him he said he would send me a bill later.I never recieved one.This is the kind of true friend he was.I think of him often and will always miss him.Sue,Kale and Michele,I love you all.
